About us

We build our own vans too. That’s rather the point.

SavvyVan started in Yorkshire in 2020, out of mild frustration. We kept looking at campervan tech and wondering why so much of it seemed to have been invented by our great-grandparents.

So we made something better. Not more expensive - better. Affordable enough for a DIY build, customisable enough to fit the van you are building rather than the van someone assumed you had.

We own campervans. We build our own, break them, fix them and take them places. Everything we make gets used in our own vans first, which is a rather effective way of finding out whether an idea was any good.

Come and say hello

You will find us at shows around the country with the panels out on the bench, waiting to be prodded. It is by far the best way to see whether SavvyVan suits how you use your van - and we would much rather you had a proper play before you buy anything.

Simon, Greg or Parbi will usually be the ones you talk to so come and say hello.

Meet the team

There are seven of us. When you email or ring, you are talking to one of these people - not a contact centre.

Simon

Founder & Director

Two decades in IT - code, circuit boards, data centre cabling - and a long-standing campervan habit. After building several vans he got fed up with how little tech there was to put in them, so he built some. Usually found delightfully lost somewhere with his wife and three children.
Greg

Finance & Business Director

Twenty years in banking, now keeping SavvyVan pointed in the right direction. If you have been to one of our trade stands, you have probably met him. Qualified Day Skipper, so do ask him about the hypothetical SavvyYacht.
Dave

Chief Code Wrangler

Lead developer, professionally for a decade and a hobbyist since his teens. Builds unusual hardware in his spare time purely to find out whether it can be done - including a marker pen that writes in a single stroke.

Sales & Accounts

David to his parents, Parbi to everyone else. The approachable one at trade shows who will happily talk you through what you actually need - including telling you when you do not need something.
Louise

Operations

The organised one, who keeps everything on track and delivered on time. Married to Simon, mum to three, and the reason anything ships when it says it will.
Andy

Production

Thirty-nine years in design and making, across education and industry. Has been alongside SavvyVan since it was a pub conversation. Builds the products, feeds the print farm and packs the orders. Serial van builder.
Ana

Junior Software Developer

Background in mechatronics and robotics, now on the hard end of debugging - the intermittent faults that only ever show up in somebody’s van, in the rain. Helps develop and debug everything so it all keeps running smoothly.

Made here, properly

Everything is designed and built in the UK, using as many British components as we can source. That is partly principle and partly practical - when something needs changing, it changes quickly, because the people who make it are in the same building.

It is also why over-the-air updates matter to us. The panel you fit this year keeps gaining features. We are not waiting for a new model to make your van better.
