Hot water, off grid

One of the few thing on this site we did not design ourselves. Pundmann build them, we sell them, and we can wire them into your panel so the water heater becomes another tile on the screen rather than another switch on the wall.

Every unit is bench tested individually before it ships and carries Pundmann’s own three-year warranty.

Which size

Capacity is the whole decision. Three litres is a wash and the washing up; ten is a shower with someone else still to go. All three heat to 65°C in about an hour.

    Six litres on twin rods, so 12V on the move and 230V on hook-up. The size most two-berth conversions settle on.

    Ten litres on twin rods, or the Air Combi that creates hot water from a blown air heater. The most capacity in the range.

How it joins up with the panel

The heater is not a wireless add-on, so it does not pair like SavvyTanks does. It uses one of the eight switches to drive an external high-current relay, and the heater’s own temperature probe goes into the terminals marked °C. Pick Water Heater against that switch in Tile Configuration and it appears on the main screen.

You will need a 200A high-current relay for the 12V element - the panel switches 10A a channel and a heater draws more than that. The Pundmann water heater guide has the wiring, step by step.

The twin rod units have a 230V element. Mains work in a vehicle is a job for someone qualified - and we would much rather you asked than guessed.
