What the van is doing, without going outside to look
How level you are, how warm it is in and out, what the battery is at. Most of it the panel reads on its own - one of them is a module, and it is the one worth having.
The one you buy
Levelling - SavvyStance
The only part of this page that needs a module, and the only one that answers a question you are asking while standing in a layby holding a ramp.
Two axes on the screen, and rather than a bubble to interpret it tells you which wheel to lift and by how much, in centimetres of ramp. Readings refresh every five seconds, so you can drive up and watch it settle instead of getting out to check.
Level means what you say it means: park somewhere you are happy with, level the van by hand, press Set Offset, and that reads as 0.0 from then on. A sensor mounted a degree out, or a slight pitch you prefer for sleeping, is accounted for.

What the panel reads on its own
No module from us, nothing extra to buy. Only Starlink needs something you may already own: the dish itself.

Inside and outside temperature
One probe comes in the box and lives wherever you put it. A second - eight pounds - gets you both at once, which is the pair most people actually want.

Battery voltage
Every panel has its own battery sensor, so there is a voltage on screen from day one. A true percentage and a time remaining are a different thing and need more than a sensor.

Starlink status
Where a dish is on the same network, a page shows state, uptime, obstructions, live throughput and data used. Read-only - the panel never changes a Starlink setting. Off by default.
Away from the van
Seeing all this when you are nowhere near it
Everything above is on the panel in front of you. Seeing it from two hundred miles away needs the van to have an internet connection of its own - a router on the outside of the van with an ordinary data SIM in it, rather than a hotspot somebody has to remember to switch on.
